Spirit Beasts
Spirit Beasts are incredibly powerful creatures that must either be sealed in a person, or in a sealing vessel of some sort. When they are sealed inside people, they normally do nothing but negatively affect personality traits, but, sometimes, the Beast's power can't be controlled, and its power leaks.
When this happens the possessed individual goes on a super-powered rampage. This inevitably happens when the Beast is strong. If, however, the possessed individual can control the Beast, either through binding spells or a positive relationship, the user can gain control of the Beast's magic. This automatically gives the user a "Beast Affinity."
Such magic is dangerous and is not suitable for weak magicians.
